Rifle Warrior is currently in development; its characters are not final and may be changed.
The Wilton Brothers (early 20s) are a pair of fraternal Scottish-Canadian-American twins from West Bascrook.
Appearance
Both are white, tall, slim, and fit. Gabriel is fairly taller and moderately more muscular than Grace.
Both have mildly long strains of hair in front of their ears.
They normally dress similarly: both normally wear a white, black-buttoned, short-sleeve tucked shirt and a pair of short white socks and brown shoes.
Biography
Grace is older than Gabriel by approximately one hour.
Grace and Gabriel, due to their closeness and boyish personalities, call each other "brothers."
They are family men, being extremely concerned about the well-being of their parents and sister.
They are Canadian-Americans of Scottish descent. When they were young, their family moved from their childhood rural province to West Bascrook for economic opportunities. They frequently spend time with their extended family back in Canada.
They are devout Catholics and frequently go to their local church, typically with Garry and Ricardo.
Both are proud gun owners and typically concealed-carry a pistol for self-defense.
As a die-hard childhood habit, they love piggyback-riding each other.
Grace Rosemary Wilton (♀) is a young religious everywoman.
Appearance
Her skin is more toned.
She has modest breasts and curves.
She has a flat nose, thin eyebrows, and brown eyes.
Her hair is warm red, short, and combed with a wide ponytail.
She normally wears a long brown skirt, a pair of brown pants, or a pair of brown shorts with a belt.
She normally wears a scarlet ribbon around her waist and over her belt.
Biography
She is a humble homemaker and career electrician.
She's absent-minded and gentlemanly; while tender like a lady, she has a short fuse.
She typically also conceal-carries a can of pepper spray for self-defense.
Her favorite gun is "Ruth," an automatic rifle gifted from her father on her seventeenth birthday. She typically brings Ruth on grander adventures far away from home.
She is a metalhead and used to be much more overt about it during her adolescence. One of her cherished possessions is a metal guitar that she plays and practices with on her free time.
One of her favorite pastimes is bowling with her friends.
Around 2023, I was getting inspired by shmups like Touhou Project and R-Type to make my own, so I brainstormed possible protagonists and their stories. One was a chef pastor who works at a breakfast restaurant and his adventure to find missing kitchen equipment. Very early on Rifle Warrior's production, I needed a new protagonist that fits its fantasy rural America theme, and I came up with an armed everywoman because I just found ladies with guns hot; looking back, it's obvious that I might had been subconsciously inspired by this pastor character.
Gabriel Wilton
Gabriel Stanwick Wilton (♂) is a young religious everyman.
Appearance
His skin is more fair.
He has a sharp nose, thick eyebrows, and brown eyes.
His hair is dark red, long, and combed. He has a very short trimmed beard and stubble mustache.
He normally wears a pair of brown pants or shorts with a belt.
He normally wears a scarlet tie.
Biography
He is a career plumber.
While normally courteous, he is easily prideful: he tends to think too highly of himself and his sister.
His favorite gun is "Holly," a double barrel shotgun inherited from his retired hunter uncle.
Contrasting his sister's preference for metal, he loves pop rock. During his adolescence, he had a phase where he impersonated various pop and rock signers for fun.
Prior to Rifle Warrior, I wanted to be an author of short stories and novellas. One in particular was about an impoverished manchild gambler who stole a sentimental but otherwise worthless jar of rocks from a simpleminded photographer. Mary Dunn was influenced by and mostly named after this photographer's older sister, a reclusive watercolorist who hated the company of anyone except her sister. Once I grow old from making video games, maybe I'd tell you the story of a wealthy cannibal couple that adopts orphans to indoctrinate them in their cult and to eventually harvest them for meat.
Reuben Oliver
Reuben Oliver (mid 20s, ♂) is an overly effeminate yet assertive Navy veteran and firefighter.
Appearance
He is tall, twinkish yet fit and mildly hairy, and white.
He has a round and pointy nose, thick brown eyebrows, and warm blue eyes.
His hair is warm blonde, puffy, and curly. He has a small and very curved ahoge, and thick sideburns.
He normally has a bell-shaped haircut thanks to his long sides rolled up.
He typically applies soft makeup on his face.
He normally wears a distinct Americophilc dress inspired by American Revolutionary uniforms; a notable aspect is a long skirt based on the Jeffersonian Republican cockade.
Biography
He's an extremely patriotic gay paleoconservative, wearing his Navy veteran status on his sleeve.
He is currently a member of a local militia and a voluntary firefighter.
He is as sensitive and effeminate as he is assertive and cocky.
The Monday Saints was a hedonistic Satanic cult originated from West Bascrook. In Rifle Warrior, they, seeking superhuman abilities, released the Showrunner onto West Bascrook.
The Showrunner
The Showrunner (centuries-old, ♂) is a disembodied demon and career entertainer from Hell.
Appearance
He is a cartoon, furred, and orange demon with cat-like and seal-like attributes. He is disembodied: he only has a head, a very expressive face, and two human-like hands, each with four fingers and a thumb.
He has the ability, at will, to shapeshift only his head shape, eyes, eyebrows, mouth, beard, and whiskers; he does not have the ability to magically shift the color of these attributes.
He has green cat-like eyes that are commonly shapeshifted into different shapes. Each will always have a curved and bright blush beneath them.
He has very light orange whiskers, normally on the sides of his head, and dark orange eyebrows.
On top of his trimmed white beard is his large, wide red nose and normally wide and zigzag mouth. He has short fangs, omnivore teeth, and a long tongue.
He wears a blue bowtie collar around his "neck" and behind his beard, cyan gloves, and a black top hat with a dark blue band.
Biography
He is one of the most successful career entertainers from Hell. He is only known as the "show-runner," and his real name is not known.
He is the damned soul of a brillant yet emotionally stunted man. Growing up, he always had a passion to entertain. He died in his late 40s from an embarrassing freak accident.
He frequently uses his limited faceshifting ability to mimick humans in satire and for intimidation. For a matter of fact, this is one of few reasons why he is popular.
Ever since his childhood, he has never stopped feeling insecure in his appearance and always felt envious of the looks of others. Now as a demon, he faceshifts for personal gratification as well.
In Rifle Warrior, he spiritually damaged West Bascrook and its locals after being released by the Monday Saints. After being defeated by Grace Wilton, he was forced back into Hell.
It is currently planned that when the player takes damage during the final boss fight, the Showrunner would mimick as Grace Wilton in order to taunt her and the player.
