In order to join and remain in any of these webrings, you must adhere to the following rules below. Each webring has their own criteria and may have additional rules.
I reserve the right to remove any website from a webring at any time and for any reason. I promise not to be a tyrant and to always try to work things out with my neighbors, but ultimately, they’re my webrings: I make the rules here and I have the final say.
I reserve the right to change the rules at any time and for any reason. While I strive to notify members of rule changes and am willing to grandfather websites, I am not obligated to do either.
If you notice a member violating a rule, try talking with them first before contacting me. It could be a honest mistake that can be easily resolved right away!
No harassment, bullying, slander, or excessive hate speech. Honest disagreement and debate are fine, provided that it remains civil.
The criteria for hate speech is left at my discretion. As a rule of thumb, you must not advocate for violence towards individuals based on their background, including nationality, ethnicity, religion, sex (gender), and/or orientation.
Unless stated otherwise (for laxer or stricter rules), "politcally incorrect" speech and media are normally allowed, including for archival purposes and criticism, provided that it is not featured on your front page.
Please accept that your fellow members may hold different beliefs and opinions; while you don’t have to agree on everything or even be good friends, we all have to get along.
Your website must be of personal nature and your own HTML creation, and it must not be blank. Static website hosting services like Neocities and Nekoweb are fine, but mainstream social media accounts don’t count.
Your website may feature links for donations and tips, commerical products, and non-intrusive and legitimate advertisments, but they must not be the main focus of your website.
You may add a webring, provided that webring fits with applicable criteria and complies with these rules.
After approval, you must add the webring’s widget to your website. You may, after sending a join request, add it.
All widgets must be clearly visible and easily accessible on your website, ideally on the front page or a dedicated webrings page.
You are free to customize a widget to your heart’s content, provided that it’s identifiable and distinguishable, retains its theme, and remains functional.
Unless stated otherwise, your website must not be primarily or entirely not-safe-for-work, but it may include adult content, provided that such content is clearly marked and, where necessary, prefaced with a warning.
Your front page must not have adult content.
Your website can be in any language. Website information can be multilingual, but it must be at least in English.
While a website may use generative AI (unless stated otherwise), all websites must be owned, operated, and maintained by humans.
You must not misrepresent the origins of AI-generated content. For example, do not claim that text generated by an AI agent was written by a human.
If you use AI-generated code for your website, you are expected to understand it and be able to maintain it yourself.
Instead of asking your agent to generate a website for you, ask it to teach you how to make one by hand!
